Question > US History

Who is often called the "father of the Air Force" for his outspoken stand on creating an Air Force, separate from the other military branches?

(Today's question is dedicated to my grandfather, Frank J. Mitchell, who was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps. Frank died yesterday at the age of 88.)

UPDATE: Answer: William "Billy" Mitchell
